Life Lately- some old and new restaurants

So, my parents were just here and we end up eating out a fair amount. There are some restaurants they love to go to when they come to Marietta and then we try out some new ones! Ben and I got a date as well and we always like trying new things! Here is a recap in case you were interested in some new ones in the Atlanta/Marietta area...

My dad ALWAYS wants to go to Dave Poe's BBQ right away, because well the brisket. We ate there first and then another day...no pictures because I don't know, we ate it so fast? : )

Always a trip to Thaicoon as well- my parents/dad loves the bento boxes at lunch time. I got the "sushi" wrapped in cucumber...
The kids share the sushi boat- the both dig using the chopsticks!

We headed to Roswell one day for lunch and we wanted to try out this 1920 restaurant-

I ordered the melon and beet salad- I got some ahi tuna on it and I am glad I did because there were literally only three slices of beet and three slices of melon...not enough food for this girl.

Next up, Ben and I went hiking at Sweetwater Creek State Park and Ben "yelped" some restaurants in the area and found this Vietnamese place, Scott's Eats and Sweets. When we pulled up, I was thinking "uh uh" and "should we go inside?". Thankfully inside was better and the Pho did not disappoint. We also got the spring rolls, which I love. I am not sure about the "sweets" part, but oh well.

We wanted to take my parents to Ponce City Market- we divided and conquered as always. I went to Marrakesh again and got the falafel plate with beets and cauliflower (I would eat a couple of orders of cauliflower all to myself...yum).

Ben went to Botiwalla- a newly opened Indian place that is owned by the people who own Chai Pani in Decatur.  Ben raved about his---I think his was the Chicken Tikka Masala. I need to try his next time. My falafel were good but not amazing.

We went to the Atlanta History Center and my parents wanted to eat at the Swan Coach House, so that was fun but I was nervous the kids were going to break something on the table. They did pretty well and took over eating my mom's frozen fruit salad for her : ) They are now begging me to make it...very Southern food I think but I may try.  My neighbor/friend lent me a cookbook she has from there! We'll see....

Anyone who is a fan of the Hunger Games, they used this house on that property as President Snow's house!

An oldie but apparently a goodie- California Pizza Kitchen at Atlantic Station.  Over the years I have bought a few California Pizza Kitchen's frozen pizzas and when Luke and I went to see Cirque du Soleil last week at Atlantic Station, he freaked out that there was an ACTUAL restaurant. Haha! He requested to go there for his end of the school year celebration...one happy boy.

Luke got the BBQ Chicken pizza.

I got the mushroom/scallions pizza on gluten free dough.

Phew!!!! I am actually ready to take a break from eating out : ) Speaking of, will write my next meal plan post riiiiight now!
