Leon, Nicaragua Missions Trip Recap

So, I will get back to meal planning and recipes next week but I am still processing our missions trip and thought I would share a little of what we did and some pictures if you were interested!



This is the overview of each day...

7:00 a.m. Devotionals

7:30 a.m. Breakfast


This is the room we ate our meals in. 


8:00-9:00 ish- Prep for the day- get all materials needed to teach Health and Hygiene Lessons, the guys would load up the trucks for items needed for the well that day.

9:00 a.m.- Drive to the community- took about 45 minutes 
10:00 a.m. - 12:30 ish- 
Drill the well and teach health and hygiene lessons- this was basic hand washing, oral hygiene, learning about germs, nutrition, how to take care of the well- with lots of crafts and games!

We got to do some face painting and they absolutely loved it! 


12:30 p.m. LUNCH- we would all get to sit down in the shade and enjoy the food- the rest of the time, we were dripping with sweat : )

1:00/1:30 p.m.- back to drilling and more health & hygiene lessons for the children in the afternoon - lessons for the women were in the morning. 


^This is where we used the bathroom during the day- don't mind the chicken that was in the corner. It stayed there the entire time! Never left! 



4:00/4:30 p.m.- finished up and headed back to the house! 
Showers, relax a little, etc...

6:00 p.m.- dinner

7:00 p.m.- debrief about the day

7:30 p.m. - play games/ hang-out...our group brought cards and games so the evening time was really fun!!

They sang Happy Birthday to Dennis and me on our birthdays and brought out cake and Coke!

Flash Flood/thunderstorm that happened...

The guys needed to get out and physically move the tree off of the road, which had turned into a river!

Last night in Leon, Nicaragua...
